ABOUT DENAE I am from Minnesota and moved out to Colorado after graduating from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. I took a job as a high school Spanish Teacher (Buenos Dias!). I attended night school to earn a Masters degree so I could become a high school counselor. I currently work at a high school in Arvada, CO and I really love this job. As for my free time, I am an avid runner and often compete in races from a 5k to a marathon. I also enjoy lifting weights,skiing, reading, eating pizza, drinking wine, and travelling.
ABOUT DAVID I was born in Fort Knox, KY and then lived in New Smyrna Beach, FL for just a short time. Most of my life was spent growing up in Fayetteville, NC. I also came back to attend East Carolina University where I earned my Bachelors Degree after my service in the U.S. Navy. I then went on to attend The University of Georgia to earn a Masters Degree. After living in Athens and Marietta, GA for 6 years where I was working in personal training and corporate fitness, I made the move out to Denver, CO. I moved to accept a position with Coors Brewing Company where I worked for almost 5 years. About 2 years ago I decided to take a completely different career route with woodworking and capentry. I have loved every minute of it!! I enjoy lifting weights, hiking, climbing 14'ers, road biking, competing as an amateur bodybuilder, and woodworking.

HOW IT HAPPENED
We were in Mexico on vacation and we went for a morning run in the rain on the beach. After a while Denae wanted to turn around and head back for breakfast, but I wanted to go a little farther. She said okay. It stopped raining and as I started to run again, I noticed she was falling behind so I stopped a little further away on a cove. When she caught up to me I gave her a big hug and said I have a question to ask. Denae, of course, was hoping that I would ask if she wanted to head back to eat breakfast. Little did she know that I had another question in mind. I then dropped down on one knee in the sand and asked her to marry me.
